23rd Birthday?

Another year, another year older. Hmp.. does it really make much difference? =P. Sometimes you feel like..wow.. birthday coming, and it would all be fun and nice. But today i cried for one whole afternoon, just got rejected from a company (which i wasn’t too sure of getting into). I just dont like the feeling of facing rejection!! =P It was tiring, i almost cancel all events tonight, except for the family dinner.

Although i was sad and all, everyone was so happy wishing me HAPPY BIRTHDAY here and there. Let me gather all the wishes and post it here.

I think there are still some that i forgot to post up. Anyway, thank you to Serena, Felix and others who have wished me. Sorry, i didn’t manage to save some of the wishes. so touching, so many wishes!! Thank you!! Thank you for the wishes!! Love you all lots!! It really did make my day brighter!! May all my sadness goes away with the presence of all of you in my life. Though i may go through difficult times in life,  your wishes and care will give me strength to go on!!  Thanks again.

Staying at home

It isn’t so bad staying at home I realized. I love the feeling of being able to relax, do my own stuff, clean up a bit, play with the doggies, do some jogging, do some paintings, listen to the songs I like, checking out stuff…. But one day is enough. =P Too much free time makes you sloppier, bored and I guess fat? 

Since young I never really go and understand what is written behind all those nice songs that I listen to. Just started to be more observant, and realize some lyrics are really nice and meaningful. Such as this song, “Things Like You” by Sanctus Real, it was posted up by someone in my multiply. The lyric is quite meaningful and the song is nice too. Here’s the lyric

Lastest Hang out Place in Miri!! :P

The lastest hang out place in Miri was on the newspaper (Borneo Post), if anyone reads it. It “Halo Cafe”, the music cafe sort of place, which is a franchise from KL.

 Been there, listen to the nice musics, drink the weird drinks and eat the “interesting” food. LOL. The enviroment is nice. But, you need reservation before you sit down and enjoy, so make an early reservation 1st!!

Baked Meat Lasagne

INGREDIENTS

4 tablespoons olive oil (use normal oil also can)

2 onions, chopped3 garlic cloves, crushed

2 celery sticks, chopped (can be neglected)

500g (1lb) minced beef

125g (4oz) Chicken livers, chooped (I don’t eat chicken liver, out)

400ml (14fl oz) dry white wine ( if you feel like using!! =P)

2 × 425g (14oz) cans tomatoes

½ teaspoon grated nutmeg (optional)

1 teaspoon dried mixed herbs

8 sheets quick-cook lasagna Verdi ( find it in box with more than 8 sheets)

300ml (1/2 pint) Bechmel sauce

50g (2 oz) Parmesan cheese, grated

25g (1 oz) matured Cheddar cheese, grated

(use mozzarella cheese also can)

1 tablespoon dried breadcrumbs

Salt and pepper

BECHMEL SAUCE 

40g (1 ½ oz) butter

40g (1 ½ oz)  flour

600ml (1 pint) milk

Pinch of ground nutmeg

Salt and pepper

 Instruction for Bechmel sauce:

Melt the butter in a saucepan and pour in the milk. Let to boil. When boiled, mixed in the flour. Beat the mixture until you  have a thick, smooth glossy sauce. Season with nutmeg, salt and pepper, and cook gently for 5-10minutes.

Instruction for the Lasagne:

Heat the oil in a large pan, add the onions and 2 garlic cloves and cook for 10minutes, until pale golden. Stir in the celery and cook for 2 minutes.

Increase the heat and add the minced beef. Cook rapidly until lightly browned. Add the chicken livers and season liberally with salt and pepper.

Pour over the wine, add the tomatoes with their juice, nutmeg and herbs. Bring to boil, cover and simmer very gently for 2 ½ – 3 hours (I actually just put it to simmer for like 1 or less than 1 hour), stirring occasionally; if the mixture becomes too thick, add a little more wine. Stir in the remaining garlic and check the seasoning.

Spoon enough sauce into a large ovenproof dish or roasting tin to cover the base. Arrange some lasagne over this. Repeat the layers until all the sauce and lasagne are used, finishing with lasagne.

Spoon over the Bechmel sauce and sprinkle with the cheeses and breadcrumbs.

Bake in a preheated ove,

200^oC (400^oF), Gas Mark 6 (no idea what), for 45-50 minutes (maybe should be shorter, please take a look every 5 minutes to ensure it doesn’t get burn), until golden. Serve immediately.

Finally!! My lasagne is out!!

LOL. Just happen to cook my lasagne today. Bought the ingredients like for days already, but didn’t cook ( no worries none are expired yet!! =). The ingredient hmp..have to wait ah..it is in my recipe book. But here’s how it looks like

Just found a scenic place for a stroll or just a slow drive in Miri. Guess where it is?

Kinda love the environment there. It looks like you’re somewhere out of Miri. Next to it is the Miri Golf Club. Love the tall tall trees. =P. Can go there for a walk or just drive and relax. Very calming effect.  

 

 

 

 

Solar Toys!!

LOL. Got myself crazy of this solar toys. I started buying a solar plant, then now, smiley face doll that shakes its head!! Its call nohohon zoku! Its cream white type. =) So cute la!! Gonna stick one in my car and one in my study room. =P

What to do on the 23th Birthday?

Just wondering a bit on what to do? Thinking of having a birthday party at the beach, inviting close friends + Their friends (whom i don’t know, to get to know more ppl). But that does need lots of efforts? WHere’s the food, music, games? Wish someone would do it for me. =P

Is 23 too old for a birthday party? =) Oh no, everyone must be expecting some alcohol involve? ahahha. =P Nah, pls don’t get me drunk and anyway i don’t find a point to drink beer or any alcohol for the moment.

Or just a movie marathon? ahaha. or just sleep away the whole day, relaxing….ooo. Hmp…. Birthday? Is it really important? Just wish i don’t need to grow up so soon. There are good and bad in all things whether you get old or just stay being young (which is impossible). Life goes on..new babies are born, old ppl pass away…circle of life?

Ah, i just thought of having some relaxing time, maybe a spa treatment? cool.. LOL…nvm. Thinking too much. Just hope i get to rest and have some relaxing time but also knows what i am gonna do next by then.
